Geckos are role models for our working practice, embodying all the qualities we look for in a service provider: they can shimmy over brick-wall obstacles, conquer slippery glass ceilings and will bend over backwards to impress you. Some interesting facts
Geckos have many extraordinary abilities, but their main superpower is gripping. Adhesive pads on their toes enable them to hold onto the smoothest of surfaces – even when they’re vertical or upside down.
Geckos can grip with such strength that a 70g adult can support 133kg. Imagine that!
They’re scalable and adaptable. They can lose their tails in defence and then grow them back again.
They’re alert with sharp eyesight, even at night, and multifocal vision.
Geckos are super clean. They regularly shed their skin; their feet have an anti-bacterial property that makes them self-cleaning; and they can lick their eyes with their tongues to keep them clean and moist.
With nimble bodies and hyperextending toes, they are fast and flexible and can get to all those hard-to-reach places.
They’re chatty creatures who use chirping and clicking sounds in their social interactions.
They’re friendly too – geckos have universal appeal and are usually welcome house guests, especially as they eat mosquitoes.
And last, but not least, in many cultures they are considered tokens of good luck.
