Hosting & Web Maintenance

Our relationship with you doesn’t need to end once your website goes live. We offer ongoing technical support and maintenance services to ensure your site continues to perform at its best.

Hosting

When we launch your website, we ensure compatibility between the hosting environment and the website’s framework, and optimise hosting settings for improved speed and responsiveness.

From thereon, who you host with is up to you, but we’d be delighted to continue hosting your site if that is what you choose. If we are managing the process, we can quickly address hosting-related issues, minimise downtime, and address slow loading speeds, or compatibility problems. We’d also be constantly monitoring for vulnerabilities, and implementing updates to ensure the website stays functional and secure.

Hosting & Maintenance FAQs

Hosting is a service that stores your website’s files and makes them accessible on the internet. Without hosting, people can’t visit your site because it has nowhere to live online.

This is the unique web address or URL (Uniform Resource Locator) people use to visit a website, for example: ‘yourbusiness.com’.

Domain registration is the process of purchasing and reserving a domain name through a registrar. For example: GoDaddy or Namecheap. Once you’ve registered a domain, you have the exclusive right to use that name for a set period, usually one year, with the option to renew it.

No. The registering of a domain name is an optional extra, but we do offer this as a service (which includes taking care of annual renewals) and our pricing is highly competitive. Charges vary, however, depending on the Top Level Domain (TLD) you choose, for example: -.com, -.co.uk, or -.net (with -.co.uk usually being the cheapest of the three).

Yes. This is called a domain transfer and refers to the moving of a domain name from one registrar to another. This is often done for better pricing, improved support, or to consolidate multiple domains under one provider. We would handle the transferring of your domain – which wouldn’t impact your existing website but would require some steps, such as unlocking the domain and providing an authorisation code. The process typically takes a few days to complete.

Yes. Your existing email mailboxes can be transferred from your current provider. This involves moving all your emails, contacts and settings to our hosting environment. We handle the setup and migration, ensuring minimal downtime. The process keeps your email addresses intact while upgrading your back-end system.
